Today was an absolutely beautiful day to let it go to waste.  At first I wasn't too motivated to go out because I wanted to rest a bit from all the traveling I did yesterday.  However after talking to a Polish woman that I had met, I realized that it is her last day in town, I should hang out with her more.  That way not only will I get a better sense of where everything is, I also have a friend to hang out with for the day, and more importantly, I will be able to learn a lot on how to take the public bus system.

I found some free sunscreen at the hostel and so I took it with me that way at least I'll be able to protect myself from the 8 hours of sun that I will be subjecting myself to.  Our first goal was to find a beach where there were caves to explore.  Unfortunately, I don't think we actually found it.  However, we did find something similar in Los Abrigos.  We went down to the beach area and just explored there for a couple hours.  I ended up falling asleep after taking a dip in water.  When I woke up, I had a minor freak out, my legs were PURPLE!  Fortunately it wasn't a burn but it definitely gave me a scare!

We decided to go to Los Cristianos and check out another beach, but to get to the beach we would have to take a bus.  It is a good thing that I had gone with my new friend.  Otherwise, I would have no idea how to take the bus, which bus to take or where to take the bus to!  I do have to say though, the bus system here is slow and to get anywhere you should allot at least more than 2 hours.  We took the 470 bus to Los Cristianos and it was 2.45€ but for a prepaid bus card, you can save anywhere from 30 to 50 percent on your fare!  The prepaid cards come in denominations of 12€ and 30€.

When we got to Los Cristianos, it was almost 3:30pm!  That's ok though, there's still plenty of time left to soak up the sun.  We picked up some food for the beach and went about to find Playa de Los Cristianos.  It is actually a man made beach and it we ate and just hang out for the rest of the after noon until around 6.  We knew that the bus back leaves right on time so we made our way back to the bus stop and bought a beer and hang out.  What a great way to spend my first full day in Tenerife.
