A Long Travel Day

It was yet another long day of traveling.  I am starting to get used to getting rest on the run.  On the train or at the station.  If I am tired and there is an opportunity to catch some shut eye, I'll take it.  The ride from Lyon to Marseille was a long and quiet ride.  Not many travellers that early in the morning so I slept.  However, when I arrived in Marseille, it was a different story.  The station was packed with people.  There weren't enough seats in the waiting area for everyone and I had two hours to wait.  I bought some food and found a corner.

I watched people effortlessly walk by with their rolling suitcases as I tried to ignore the heat.  Finally the two hours rolled by and I thought I could get back on a similar climate controlled train as before.  However that was not the case.  The seats in this train were smaller and it was almost full.  I got on at the beginning of the car and by the time I got to my seat the train was about to depart.  I had to quickly put my backpack down...instead of putting it in the luggage area, I put it by my feet.  I'm not quite sure why I did that because for the next two hours I had no where to put my legs.  Not the best idea.  Thankfully when we were in Cannes the train had emptied so I was able to get up and move my luggage for the last 20 minutes of the trip.

Check back tomorrow to see what kind of adventures Monaco has in store!
