My friend got hit up to to do an engagement photo shoot for a friend of his and was recruited to help him out and give some advice as well as be his "assistant".  The site that the couple chose was a beautiful area known as Lands End.  However, the weather here in San Francisco is very unpredictable.  Something that is almost certain is fog.  Lets just say, today the fog rolled in HEAVY.  Not only was it foggy, it was cold, windy, and damp.  When the couple showed up, we talked about this location and weighed the pros and cons and ended up to cancel this and move to another location.

The consensus was to move to the Palace of Fine Art where the architecture could be used as a nice backdrop.  However to be safe, my friend called ahead just to make sure.  Thankfully they had sun.  Time to switch locations.  Now here's the adventure.  I am quite familiar with San Francisco, however, my friend isn't.  So we decided to use the GPS.  Here is what I don't understand.  Why don't the makers of navigation units update their units regularly?  It took us all the way up to the entrance of the Golden Gate Bridge because the exit that we were supposed to get off does not exist.  Thankfully there was one final exit for San Francisco right at the entrance of the bridge.  However, once we got off the bridge, it was a nightmare to reorient ourselves in the right direction.  Finally, I decided that the GPS was just reacting too slow, so I took over.  At least I could get us turned around and back on track.  It was so much easier to follow my direction than the GPS.

In the end, after maybe a series of wrong turns and detours, we made it to the Palace of Fine Arts.  Just in time for more fog to start moving.  At least we had about 10 minutes of clear shooting some more time with overcast time.  However, it was an adventure and a wild fun ride.  Not only were there cool photos, I also met some really great people, Grace and Brian.  I wish them the all the best for their upcoming wedding!  What is it?  259 days to go?
