I didn't really do anything today except walk around the downtown area of Amsterdam.  I blame it on the second hand pot smoke but at the same time it was also very nice to just stay close to the hostel.  I checked out some of the head shops that are around to look for souvenirs for friends back at home and was surprised at the variety of things that they carry!  Some of these contraptions are very elaborate!  Flavoured papers, charcoal tipped filters, special pipe cleaners, and marijuana grinders.  There was so much to look at that I got a little confused and just left, I needed to ask someone for some advice before picking something out.

When I got back to my hostel, there were two new guys.  Jack and Chris.  Interesting guys from Manchester.  They told me about the sex show that they went to the night before where the performer wrote "sexy boy" with her vagina on Chris as well as some other adventures that they had while in Amsterdam.  Sounded quite exciting although a bit too exciting for me.

Later, they came back to the room with hair dye.  They were going to dye their hair blonde!  It was very entertaining to watch them dye their hair although it didn't go quite as platinum as they had hoped.  Strawberry blonde for Jack and more of a ginger for Chris.  While they were dying their hair, they also told me stories about their adventures through the French Alps, eating couscous with tomato purée and mayonnaise, and getting kicked off a train.

They ended up going to the Ultimate Bar Crawl with some other people from the hostel and I'm sure they have many more stories to tell from that adventure!  As for me, I went out around 8pm and just wandered around to where the canals are, away from the tourists.  It is more residential there and very beautiful at night.  I just admired the view for a little bit before heading back to the Flying Pig.
